About laura

Bio

laura brewer is the voice of radical heart and courage. A voice she evolved while growing up gay in the southern United States. Those early years taught her a great deal about living in fear. And they also taught her that hiding her love was the only way to stay safe. As laura grew older and took on prominent leadership roles in education reform and social justice, she got an intimate look at the costs and consequences of fear-based living and leading. And how urgent the need is to make more love in our world, with intention and courage. Today, she’s embraced her super powers that were forged from her pain as a kid to help others re-relate to their fear in order to make more love in their lives and organizations — unabashedly. From learning to lead with more heart and less head, to leaving corporate legacies of justice, to helping teams develop radically inclusive cultures and organizations, laura helps leaders confront the things that scare them the most so they can make a life, a team, an organization, a relationship, and a world filled with love. laura has impacted thousands of lives through executive coaching, public speaking at places like Harvard University, and teaching as an adjunct faculty member at American University. Her work has influenced teachers, corporate teams, and CEOs and has produced a strong track record of transformed culture, leadership, courage, connection, and inclusivity. laura is the host and creator of the 5-star podcast “How To Make Love.” Raised in Charlottesville, Virginia, she now lives in Los Angeles. She loves to surf and use profanity.

I'm passionate about

Radical, revolutionary love that centers racial justice. The ocean. Music from the 90s.

An idea worth spreading

We don’t need to ‘find’ love or ‘fall into’ it. Our future depends on our ability to MAKE it.
