Bio
Dr. Tara Well is a professor of psychology at Barnard College in Columbia University where she teaches classes on personality, motivation, health, and women's leadership.
She developed a mirror-based meditation to transform judgments about appearance, develop self-confidence and self-compassion, and reduce stress. Dr. Well is now exploring how we can use mirrors and reflections to manage our attention and emotions.
Her research on motivation and perception has been funded by National Institute of Mental Health and National Science Foundation and published in top psychology journals.
Tara Well been quoted in The New York Times, Boston Globe, New York Observer, Bloomberg, Forbes, INC, Shape, Allure, Refinery 29, Life & Style Magazine, Yahoo Lifestyles and others.
In 2017, she started a Psychology Today blog column, "The Clarity," which now has over 500K readers. Body-image, self-compassion, narcissism, emotional resilience, meditation, and leadership are popular topics.
