Upload your photos

Upload your event photos to Flickr

After your event is finished (congrats!), you’re required to upload your photos on Flickr. Sharing your best event photos will help the magic of your event reach fellow organizers and photo enthusiasts worldwide.

  • Take these steps to make it easier for the community to find your photos:
    ◦ Upload the images in the highest resolution possible.
    ◦ Include credits for your wonderful photographers in the captions.
    ◦ Tag each photo with "TEDx" and "TEDx[Event Name], and any other appropriate tags.
  • Include context when you post photos on Flickr or social media. You can share a note about what makes the photo special — this might be a short quote with a speaker photo, details to go with a photo of your stage, or feedback from an attendee.
  • Navigating regional restrictions: If Flickr is unavailable in your region, please upload your photos to an alternative photo-sharing platform or cloud storage service (like Google Drive or Dropbox) and send them to tedx@ted.com.

If you need additional help, contact us at tedx@ted.com.

Did you know? Flickr is both a wonderful platform for the global TEDx community to gain inspiration from each other’s events and the main source for photos that are featured on TEDx’s official social accounts (Instagram and LinkedIn). Sharing your photos and tagging them with “TEDx” ensures that our team can find and highlight your event.

How to create a Flickr account

Sign up or a free account, where you can upload up to 1,000 images. If you have trouble creating an account, please review these guidelines.

When you reach the 1,000-image limit, you can get a free account upgrade to Flickr Pro by filling out this form.

  • When filling out the form, under Organization Name, enter your TEDx event name (e.g. TEDxVienna).
  • In the field labeled Tax ID Number, enter the URL of your official TEDx event page found on TED.com (e.g. https://www.ted.com/tedx/events/27458).
  • If you need any help with this process, you can contact Flickr support.

Share your best photos to the TEDxHub

Make sure you also share your best photos with other organizers on the TEDxHub. Whether it's to show off your cool stage designs or items in your gift bags, let the community know!

Other spaces to share photos

We encourage you to also share your best photos in other digital spaces, like your social accounts.  The more you share them, the wider your reach will be! Here are a few other platforms to consider:

  • TEDxHub - Show off your event and get inspiration from the community in the Hub’s Community Gallery!
  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • Pinterest
Rules to remember
  • Photos should look natural — don’t modify your photos in a way that doesn’t reflect the reality of the scene. This means adjusting contrast, color balance, and applying filters or airbrush.
  • Photos of TEDx events must be released under a Creative Commons license ("Attribution - NonCommercial - NonDerivative"), so they can be freely shared and reposted.
  • When you share your photos, do credit your photographer(s) in the captions. Don't add photographer watermarks, your event logo or other labels onto your photos.

Make sure to read all TEDx photography rules.
